Frequently-Asked Questions
It’s normal to have questions about the funeral process. Below are a few questions we hear most from families in our care.
01
I haven’t heard of Embrace Funerals before. How do I know my loved one will be in good hands?
We're always glad to be asked this question, because we understand how important it is to know that your loved one is properly cared for. Embrace is a small, family-owned funeral home in St Marys, and we've cared for more than 2,000 Adelaide families since 2021.
Over 200+ families have left us 5-star Google reviews, which you can read here. Most of those reviews mention our team members who looked after them by name. You can also meet the people who'll be caring for your loved one before you decide anything, or even come in for a tea or coffee and meet us in person.
02
What do I do when someone passes away?
Firstly, you don’t need to have anything figured out. Call us on (08) 7221 2633 and one of our caring funeral directors will guide you through the process.
Once we know where your loved one is and what has happened, we’ll take care of the practical steps and be right by your side the whole time. We’ll liaise with the hospital, the coroner (if required), or the aged care facility on your behalf.
03
How much does a funeral cost in Adelaide?
A direct cremation, without a service, is $2,995. Our full funeral services are priced based on your specific requirements, and the choices you make during the arrangement process. We will always speak openly about costs, explain exactly what’s included, and outline any other costs that may apply (such as third-party fees or optional extras that are requested), so you'll always know where you stand before deciding anything.
04
Can I see my loved one before the funeral?
Yes, you’re more than welcome to see your loved one before the funeral. A private family viewing is included in many of our packages. We'll care for them gently beforehand so they look peaceful and like themselves, so you can spend time with them before the service.
05
What happens if someone can’t attend the funeral in-person?
If someone can’t attend the funeral in-person, we can arrange professional livestreaming through an external videographer, so family and friends who are unwell, or who live further away can still be part of the day.
06
Can you help with cultural or religious traditions?
Absolutely. All cultures, religions and traditions are welcome at Embrace Funerals.
We feel deeply honoured to have supported Buddhist, Catholic, Hindu, Orthodox, Jewish, Islamic, and non-denominational families, among many others.
07
Can I see what’s included in a service before I commit to something?
Absolutely. In fact, we recommend it.
We will always outline your options and inclusions during the arrangement so you know exactly what you’re getting ahead of time: what’s included, what’s optional, and what everything costs. If something doesn’t fit your needs or budget, we’ll help find a way to honour your person, with zero pressure.
08
When will we receive the ashes back after cremation?
Usually within five business days. You can collect them from Embrace Funerals in St Marys, or from Enfield Memorial Park, whichever is easier for you.
